One day, on a day like any other, you wake up in the morning to your annoying alarm telling you it’s time to get up and face the day ahead. You grumpily hit the snooze button for a few more sweet seconds nestled in the comfortable sheets of your warm bed. Your alarm goes off once again, reminding you that you have dozed off and that if you continue to neglect your alarm clock for your cozy bed, you will be late to work, again.
So you reach over to grab your phone and quickly glance at the long list of things you have to do for the day, and as the subtle feeling of overwhelm sneaks up on you, you subconsciously find yourself lost inside your phone, checking your email or social media notifications. Soon, you end up realizing that another significant amount of time has passed and now you will surely be late to work. You eventually roll out of bed, get ready for work, and decide to take a quick breakfast on the go or possibly just skip it today.
The rest of your day goes by in a somewhat similar manner…getting the kids ready and dropping them off, a long and busy day ahead at work, customers who just don’t see the value in what you’re trying to sell and a boss constantly on your back about meeting your deadline on time. You pause now and again to check your phone and briefly scroll through your newsfeed to see if there is anything new or exciting going on, but the busy work day continues.
You grab fast food for a late lunch or dinner, unsure of which is which anymore, and are way too exhausted to cook a healthy meal or workout by the time you get home, because it’s already so late in the day as it is. You still have a million things on your mind and a lot to get done, so you decide to settle into the couch and turn on Netflix for a break or in the background as you end up mindlessly browsing through the tempting world of social media once again.
All the beautiful, successful and Instagram famous couples vacationing on the beach, or announcing their engagement, pregnancies and new house purchases, seemingly living the perfect life that you hope to One Day attain. Then someone asks you if you’ve been meditating or working out regularly or having an impromptu date night after your weekly yoga class…and you look at them like they’re insane.
After the day you’ve had, and the endless tasks that still remain in order for you to even come close to reaching your goals, you decide that there is absolutely no time right now for all of that. But, you add to yourself, One Day.
One day you will feel organized and productive and reach your goals, one day you will have financial security, one day you will have a loving spouse and a happy family, and one day you will all be able to live the life of luxury you’ve always dreamed of.
One Day, but not today.
So a few more hours pass by and maybe you get some work done that evening, or maybe you don’t, but you’re yawning quite a bit so now seems like a good time to get ready for bed. As you finally get in bed that night, you’re grateful for a split second that this day is done and over with, but that is short lived as you reach for more Netflix and social media simultaneously.
At this point, either you are utterly exhausted and pass out immediately, or you lay awake feeling numb in the dark, wondering why you can’t turn off your brain if your body is so tired. Finally, as you’re thinking of what else you need to get done to get to where you want to be, your eyes get heavy and you drift off to sleep before doing it all again the next day. And the next day…and the next day.
This continues for days, weeks, and months, which slowly turn into years, the years your life is ultimately comprised of. Sure, there are bursts of excitement and joyful memories here and there, but a majority of the days have flown by and you find yourself wondering where the time has gone but you quickly shrug it off, assuming that the truly good life just wasn’t made for you and you need to get back to reality for now…
In this example of a day in the life of the average middle-class adult, not once did you notice how lucky you are that your stomach was full enough to be able to skip breakfast and still be okay, or that at least you had a car to get to the job you hate in which you were able to complain about your city having the craziest drivers, or that there was somebody that talked to you that day who you connected with, if not someone who loves you waiting for you at home.
Not once did you take the time to question whether the actions of your day were in alignment with your true self and life purpose. Not once did you acknowledge the fact that you are in total control of your own life and all of your past circumstances have led you to where you are today. Not once did you consider what you could have done differently that day to make a powerful and positive impact on someone else not quite as lucky as you, because even you’re not where you want to be yet.
But still, you repeat to yourself, One Day you will.
Or, maybe I’ve got it all wrong and you’re actually one of the few who do take the time to occasionally acknowledge that you have it pretty good. You’ve got a roof over your head, a body that works pretty well most days, and even someone who loves you and supports you as you work towards your dreams. You even have a work holiday party coming up, so you’re looking forward to that, kind of (aside from the one annoying coworker who just irks you for some reason you can’t quite place).
You look around and reassure yourself that for the most part, your life isn’t that bad. You just wish you could reach your goals already so you can finally get to enjoying the life you really want. Then you will have all the time in the world to go on nice vacations with loved ones and enjoy expensive luxuries as you make passive income without having to work so hard every day.
If only you didn’t feel so tired and if only you could get enough hours in the day, you know you could do it. Because at the end of the day, even though you know your life is pretty good, you know in the back of your mind, deep down inside where you hardly ever look, that there is something more. You have a pretty good idea of what you think it may be; it’s just that you’re not quite sure what that something is…but you know you will have it some day.
I am here to tell you that day is today.
Today, right now, I challenge you to pause whatever you are doing for just one moment, and reflect on if any of this sounds familiar to you.
I urge you to ask yourself WHY One Day, and WHEN will that One Day arrive if it hasn’t yet. WHAT exactly is it that you are waiting for to happen One Day?
I am saying this to you today because I was once exactly where you are, and I understand. Through the hustle and bustle of daily life, the chaos of trying to balance work, relationships, extra-curricular activities and numerous other commitments, it can be hard to make time for yourself. It can be hard to find the time for cooking and eating healthy meals, working out, drinking enough water, and getting enough sleep, when you’re struggling just to get your work done to accomplish your goals.
But at the end of the day, after all the hard work, when you get that promotion, when you finally have enough income to buy that new house or buy the latest technology and fashion trends, are you feeling entirely fulfilled and satisfied with your life? When you wake up in the morning or lay down to sleep at night, are you feeling peaceful, happy, energized, loved, connected and joyful about yourself and your life?
Or are you still worrying about work and endless tasks and attaining your goals, one after another after another? Many of us can relate to the latter, and if you are one of these people, then Spirit Life coaching is for you.

Do not ignore this sign.
Listen to this sign. Discover how to find peace in the present moment instead of waiting to get what you want to be happy. Learn how to best take care of your health and well-being so you can have the energy and motivation to work with a clear mind, towards a clear vision. Create a plan to put yourself, mind, body and soul, before all else, and then see how effortlessly each day passes, while having an even more clear and big-picture vision of what will truly fulfill you in life.
Do not get so caught up in the routine tasks of a mundane life that you ignore this sign. Instead, make the decision to live every day feeling fulfilled and inspired to create lasting change. Every life will have problems, and many of these may be outside of your control. But what is in your control is your sense of self, the vision for your best and most meaningful life, and the thoughts and attitudes that dictate your actions in your day to day life.
No success comes overnight. No, not even through manifestation and the law of attraction. No, not even to lucky people. Absolutely no one goes to sleep totally unhappy and wakes up with inner peace, loving relationships, bikini bodies and fame and fortune and unexpected success without putting in any of the effort.
Because true transformation arises from the consistent habits of a determined spirit.
